Salida & Buena Vista, Colorado

Our mission

Achieve empowers neurodivergent people and those with mental health challenges in Colorado to gain confidence, independence, and job skills through hands-on training and mentorship.

Our vision

To see neurodivergent individuals across rural Colorado living lives of total independence, powered by the skills to succeed and the confidence to lead.

Creating social enterprises for life-changing opportunities

Through our coffee shop, Brew & Bloom, our food truck, Little Engine Eatery, and community events, we turn our community into a living classroom. By mastering culinary arts, customer service, and social navigation in real-world settings, neurodivergent individuals gain the hands-on experience and confidence needed to thrive in the workforce.

75%
over 75% of Achieve program graduates aged 18 and older successfully transition into meaningful community employment.

Building independent lives for neurodivergent Coloradans

Recent studies indicate that up to 85% of autistic adults are unemployed—a gap that often leads to isolation and mental health challenges. At the same time, local hospitality businesses struggle to find reliable talent.

Achieve turns these challenges into opportunities. We provide hands-on training and mentorship to help neurodivergent individuals build confidence and independence. By educating local employers on the benefits of inclusion, we are strengthening the rural workforce and building a community where everyone has a purpose.

About Achieve

Voices of Our Community

I met one of Achieve’s program participants who is now working at a restaurant. He told me he wouldn’t have had the confidence to even apply for the job had it not been for Achieve’s program.

Karen Dils, community member

I learned [working at the Little Engine] how to push myself to stay focused and get my job done, even when it gets super hard.

Kendra Poplin, program participant (from the Tenderfoot Times)

We have seen the benefit to our students who otherwise would have limited to no access to opportunity to learn job and relational skills.

Lisa Yates, Superintendent, Buena Vista School District
